Candace Kwinter

Branch Manager and Principal of the Vancouver Ten Star Financial Services office

Candace began her career in the Financial Services Industry in 1978 with the CIBC Bank. In 1989 she left the Bank to pursue a life insurance and financial planning practice with the Sun Life Financial Group, and in March of 2001 she partnered with Ten Star Financial Services to open the Vancouver Branch. Candace has completed the AMTC and IFAITC programs. She has obtained her CLU, CHFC, RHU and CFP designations. On the Mutual Funds side, she has been a licensed representative since 1989, and has obtained the Branch Manager and Officers’, Partners’ and Directors’ licences. She is an active member of Advocis and served as Chair of Professional Development.

Throughout Candace’s career in corporate banking and corporate financial planning over the past 32 years, she has specialized in dealing with independent business owners and what matters most to them: building and securing capital, business and investment assets while protecting their wealth from the eroding effects of taxes.

Candace’s greatest strengths are her integrity and reputation for
understanding her clients concerns first.

Mike has over 25 years expertise providing Comprehensive Financial Planning Services to individuals, families, business executives and owners'. During that time Mike has built his reputation as an expert in the effective use of investment funds and insurance products to constantly improve the financial well-being of his clients through effective wealth accumulation, wealth management, income management, and risk avoidance.

Mike believes that we all have a responsibility to our community, and has been involved as a volunteer in many community organizations, services, and events, including the Vancouver Sea Festival, the Molson Indy car races, the Disabled Sailing Association, the False Creek Yacht Club, Vancouver AM, and the 2010 Winter Olympics. Mike currently is a member of the Boards of Directors of the Sam Sullivan Disability Foundation, and Hollyburn Family Services Society. Mike is also an avid sailor and golfer.

Candy Luk, BBA

Candy joined the Ten Star Financial team in July of 2010. She has over 3 years of experience as an assistant of a Financial Advisor at Manulife Financial. On the path of persuading her goal in the financial industry, Candy completed her bachelor of Business Administration concentrating in Finance at Simon Fraser University and has recently completed the Canada Securities Course. She is also a Candidate of the Certified Financial Analyst program and will be sitting the Level I exam in December 2010.

Through learning and challenges, Candy has developed a great passion for the financial industry. She brings enthusiasm and dedication to her role as a Marketing Assistant. Her greatest strength is her willingness to learn and accept challenges. She also has great analytical skill and enjoys helping others.
